1. Cover your table with a tablecloth.
2. Arrange the runner on table, or create your own runner by folding and pressing fabric into a runner; lay the runner down the center of the table.
3. Place the picnic basket on the table. Fold a tablecloth or blanket, and drape it over the back of the open basket.
4. Prop the platter at the back of the basket.
5. Tie bundles of napkins with ribbon. Nestle the plates, napkins, cups, and utensils in the basket. To arrange them in different heights, place bowls and jars upside down in the bottom of the basket and hide them with the portion of the tablecloth or blanket that is folded in the basket. Then prop the elements on top of the bowls or jars.
6. Place the flowers in a little water in the larger jars; place one jar of flowers in the basket and place one on the table by the picnic basket.
7. Place short candles in the smaller jars, and light them.
