1. Carve your initial into a pumpkin.
2. Drape table with tablecloth.
3. Fold velvet into a runner that will fit down the center of the table; steam or press to crease edges.
4. Place a cake pedestal in the center of the velvet table runner.
5. Arrange leaves on the cake pedestal and top with the carved pumpkin.
6. Scatter leaves on the runner around the cake pedestal; then weave twigs along length of runner.
7. Cut a short slit into a miniature pumpkin just to the side of the stem.
8. Write the names of your guests on place cards. Insert the corner of each card into the slit you created in each pumpkin; place on serving plate at each place setting.
