1. Fill the votive candle holders with colored sand, pouring one layer of colored sand at a time until the holder is almost filled to the top and ending with a layer of white sand.
2. Gently push the votive candles into the top layer of white sand to secure them.
3. Cut strips of paper to wrap the cans completely; secure the strips around the cans with tape or glue.
4. Pour a couple of inches of water in the cans. Cut the flowers to fit into the cans, and place the stems in the water.
5. Cover your table with the tablecloth.
6. Arrange the cans of flowers and sand-filled votives down the center of the table.
7. Set each place with a red plate. Place a napkin on top, and then a sand-filled votive.
